COLUMBUS, OHIO – Jared Thompson, a 34-year-old accountant from Ohio, thought the worst part of his business trip would be the five-hour layover in Denver. That was until his suitcase disappeared somewhere between baggage claim and the void of airline customer service.

“I was upset at first because, you know, all my socks and underwear were in there,” Thompson explained. “But then it hit me, maybe this is a metaphor for my life. What else have I lost along the way?”

Thompson’s journey to reclaim his missing belongings has spiraled into deep self-reflection. “I called the airline and they said they’d ‘look into it,’ which is exactly what my ex said before ghosting me,” he lamented.

Now, with no change of clothes and an existential crisis unfolding, Thompson has resorted to borrowing a hotel bathrobe and questioning all his past decisions.

Friends say they’re concerned as Thompson has begun journaling about his “inner luggage” and referring to lost baggage tags as “signs from the universe.”

Meanwhile, the airline has assured him they’re doing everything possible to find his suitcase, which means it is currently on a scenic tour of international airports.
