WASHINGTON, D.C. – Former Nikola founder Trevor Milton has been granted a full pardon by President Donald Trump, on the condition that he becomes a full-time MAGA influencer.
The embattled electric truck entrepreneur, who was convicted of fraud for misleading investors about Nikola’s futuristic, totally-not-fake technology, will now swap hydrogen fuel cells for red caps and Twitter rants.
As part of the presidential decree, Milton has pledged to wear a red “Make America Great Again” hat at every public appearance, including court hearings, family gatherings, and any future attempts at launching sketchy tech startups.
Insiders say Milton initially tried to negotiate a “MAGA beanie” alternative, but Trump allegedly replied, “No deal! It’s the hat or the slammer, pal.”
In addition to his new wardrobe requirements, Milton must also tweet “Trump Forever!” at least twice a week to his followers, a move that legal analysts are calling “definitely not how the justice system is supposed to work.”
Trump, however, sees things differently. “Trev’s a good guy, a great guy,” the former president told reporters. “He might have scammed a few people, but let’s be honest, I’ve seen worse. And he loves trucks – big, beautiful trucks.”
At the same time Nikola’s investors are struggling to imagine a world where their clean-energy visionary is now a mouthpiece for coal-loving populism. “I mean, I wanted an electric future,” said one disappointed investor. “I just didn’t think it would be powered by Trevor Milton shouting ‘Trump 2028!’ on X.”
As Milton prepares for his rebranding, sources say he’s already practicing his new persona, work-shopping tweets such as “Trump is the real hydrogen-powered revolution!” and “Fake news says Nikola trucks didn’t work, but guess what? Neither do Biden’s policies!”
Whether his transformation will pay off remains to be seen, but one thing is certain: the wheels on this story keep turning, even if Nikola’s never did.
