MEXICO CITY, MEXICO – In a bold diplomatic move Mexico has announced it is ready to help America in their current “egg crisis” and deliver millions of much-needed eggs to the United States.
But there’s a catch. During a press conference, Mexican officials declared that the U.S. must first “generously make some territorial concessions” and give Alaska to Canada.
“We believe this is a fair trade, may be the fairest trade in the world history” said Mexico’s newly appointed Minister of Poultry Affairs. “You get the eggs, Canada gets Alaska, and we get to watch it all unfold with popcorn.”
The U.S. State Department responded with confusion, stating, “We didn’t even know Mexico was involved in egg diplomacy,” while Canadian new Prime Minister Mark Carney was reportedly seen practicing his best “Eh?” in preparation for Alaska’s potential inclusion.
Meanwhile, Alaska residents were polled about the proposal, and 60% responded, “As long as we get free maple syrup, we’re in.”
As negotiations heat up, egg prices remain sunny-side up, and Mexico stands firm on its offer.
“No Alaska to Canada, no huevos,” said one Mexican official, cracking a smile. The world now watches, wondering whether this yolk has legs, or wings.
