KYIV, UKRAINE – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced that he is prepared to present his candidacy for President of the United States, citing his extensive “on-the-job experience” in handling crises.
This announcement was followed President Donald Trump’s claim, that President Zelenskyy should hold elections before negotiations to end Russian aggression in Ukraine.
While some skeptics question his eligibility, Zelenskyy has a simple answer: “If president Donald Trump wants me to do this, then what’s the problem? It is President Donald Trump who has required me holding elections before we can start negotiations with Russia to end Russian aggression in Ukraine.”
At a press conference, Zelenskyy declared, “I am prepared to do anything to get Russia out of Ukraine. So, if Donald Trump, whom I highly respect, wants me to run for the president of the United States, who am I to argue with him? If he wants that, so be it!”
“Since I’m already running everything in Washington anyway, I figured – why not make it official?” Zelenskyy commented with a slight smile on his face.
President Donald Trump immediately took credit for Zelenskyy’s candidacy, claiming, “He saw me do it, and now he wants to be me -can’t blame him!”
Legal scholars are scrambling to determine whether a foreign leader can just casually run for president, but Zelenskyy remains unfazed. “The Constitution? I’ve dealt with worse bureaucratic nightmares. Also, if Schwarzenegger could be governor, why not this?” he quipped.
