SILICON VALLEY, CALIFORNIA – Today a leaked video has emerged allegedly showing how Mark Zuckerberg came up with the idea to end Facebook’s fact-checking program.

The grainy footage, recorded on what appears to be a hidden camera, shows Zuckerberg sitting at his desk, while binge-watching Elon Musk’s chaotic Twitter moves.

“Wait… you can just not care about truth?” Zuckenberg reportedly mutters, pausing the screen during Musk’s decision to make verification a purchasable feature. “This is brilliant… and so much cheaper than hiring actual experts!”

At one point, the video shows him furiously scribbling “fact-checking = overrated” on a white piece of paper laying on his desk. It’s not very clearly seen, but seems like he was scribbling something like “We’ll say it’s about ‘freedom of expression.’ People love that stuff! And if anyone questions us, I’ll just say it’s…uh… ‘meta’” on that piece of paper.

Neither Zuckerberg nor Musk has commented on the footage, though Musk cryptically tweeted, “Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Or laziness. 🤔”

Meanwhile, a spokesperson for Meta dismissed the video as “AI-generated nonsense,” adding, stating that Mark would never use a hidden camera; he’s a Meta Portal guy.
