SAN FRANSISCO, CALIFORNIA – Lucasfilm revealed today that it will remake the original Star Wars trilogy with a controversial casting twist: U.S. President Donald J. Trump will take on the role of Luke Skywalker.
The studio insists the decision is part of a bold new artistic direction titled “Make the Galaxy Great Again.”
“Donald brings a fresh perspective to the role of a young farm boy with a destiny,” said the representative of Lucasfilm while dodging sarcastic Twitter comments. “We wanted someone who could convincingly say, ‘I am your favorite, maybe ever, Jedi — people say that,’ and truly mean it.”
Trump, meanwhile, has already begun referring to himself as “Luke Skywinner” and claimed he defeated Darth Vader at “numbers no one’s ever seen before.”
Leaked footage from the set shows Trump dramatically refusing to enter the trash compactor scene, citing sanitation concerns and claiming it was “rigged by the Rebels.”
In another leaked moment, he replaces “The Force” with “very powerful executive orders.” Rumors suggest he has also redesigned the Death Star to include a golden penthouse and renamed it “Trump Star One.”
Fans remain divided. While some see it as the greatest crossover since Ewoks met Christmas, others fear the Force has been permanently unbalanced.
One member of the original Star Wars cast, when asked for comment, simply muttered, “I have a very bad feeling about this…”
