WASHINGTON, DC – Former U.S. Representative Tulsi Gabbard announced the launch of a crowdfunding campaign to cover her costs necessary for a trip to Russia. “Sometimes, you’ve got to take democracy into your own hands – and wallets,” Gabbard declared,

Gabbard’s crowdfunding page, titled “Tulsi Takes on Tyranny”, outlines her goal: $50,000 for logistical expenses to meet friends and truth-tellers in Russia. When asked about the nature of her planned trip, Gabbard replied cryptically, “It’s not about my trip. It’s about liberty—and, occasionally, first-class upgrades.”

Critics were quick to pounce on the announcement. Former White House aide John Bolton labeled it “the most creative misdirection play since Watergate.” However, Gabbard’s loyal fanbase defended her, flooding Twitter with hashtags like #TulsiTrip and #CrowdfundForComrades.

The campaign features several unique donor rewards. For a $100 contribution, supporters receive an autographed photo of Gabbard posing in front of a map of the Soviet Union. A $1,000 donation earns an exclusive “Behind the Iron Curtain” virtual Q&A session with the former congresswoman, during which she promises to answer “most” questions about her foreign policy views.

Asked why she chose crowdfunding instead of more traditional means of financing, Gabbard shrugged. “Why not? Crowdfunding is grassroots. It’s democracy in action.”

Gabbard closed her announcement with a hopeful message: “To all my supporters, let’s make history, or at least a really compelling travel vlog.”
