SAN FRANSISCO, CALIFORNIA – The world-famous group Village People has announced a surprise re-release of their iconic hit “Macho Man” — this time titled “Taco Man.”
The disco legends claim the remix is a tribute to current U.S. president Donald Trump, inspired by his well-documented love for fast food and that infamous Cinco de Mayo tweet featuring a taco bowl and the caption: “I love Hispanics!”
“We realized we were missing a golden opportunity,” said band spokesman and cowboy hat enthusiast Dusty Rivers. “When we looked at the lyrics — ‘Every man wants to be a macho man’, we thought, wait, what if every man actually just wants to be a taco man? It’s 2025, the world’s changed. So has our cholesterol.”
The updated chorus now proudly declares: “Taco, taco man! I want to be a taco man!” The music video reportedly features a Trump lookalike building a wall out of taco shells, riding a mechanical bull dressed as a burrito, and declaring “Make Guacamole Great Again” while YMCA members in mariachi outfits dance in sync.
The Trump office has issued a statement saying the President is “honored” by the remake, adding that he is “flattered to be compared to such a delicious and structurally questionable food item.”
When asked if he’d attend the re-release party, Trump responded, “Only if there’s extra sour cream. And Diet Coke. Lots of Diet Coke.”
