WASHINGTON, D.C. – Chaos erupted at the White House yesterday after rock-star Kid Rock was unceremoniously booted from the premises for what officials called a “flagrant violation of suit-and-tie protocol.”
The singer, who arrived in his signature leather trousers, cowboy hat, and an American flag tank top, reportedly scoffed at requests to dress more formally, declaring, “This IS my formal wear, baby!”
Sources inside the administration say staffers initially tried to reason with Kid Rock, offering him a loaner suit from the White House wardrobe department. However, the rock legend refused, allegedly shouting, “Ain’t no way I’m squeezing into some politician’s monkey suit!”
Security was eventually called in after he attempted to compromise by tucking in his tank top and calling it “business casual.”
As he was escorted off the premises, Kid Rock could be heard yelling, “This is why America needs more rock and less rules!”
His fans quickly took to social media, launching the hashtag #LetKidRockRock, while White House officials maintained that “even rebels need to follow the dress code.”
No word yet on whether Kid Rock will attempt a return, perhaps in a tuxedo T-shirt.
