WASHINGTON, D.C. – Latest poll carried through after Trump – Putin Alaska summit reveals that Americans now consider Russian president Vladimir Putin to be the worst U.S. president in history.
Despite the minor detail that Putin has never officially been elected for U.S. office, survey participants were adamant that although de jure current President Trump was so far seen as the worst in American history, the new de facto president Putin somehow managed to outdo even Trump in terms of sheer disappointment.
The findings come as a surprise to many who assumed Donald Trump had permanently secured the bottom spot in presidential rankings.
“Honestly, we thought nobody could beat Trump in this category,” said lead researcher Dr. Elaine Burrows, “but respondents overwhelmingly insisted that de facto current Putin is even worse than de jure president Trump. Some said they weren’t sure why, but it just ‘felt right.’”
According to the data, Americans blamed “Putin’s U.S. presidency” for a range of issues, from inflation and high gas prices to the last season of Game of Thrones. One respondent even accused him of inventing pineapple pizza, while another swore Putin personally unfriended them on Facebook.
