STARTING FROM JULY 1, BLACK CHESS PIECES MUST STAND ON THE FIRST AND SECOND ROW OF CHESSBOARD. THE PLAYER WITH BLACK PIECES IS ENTITLED TO START THE GAME

Today the International Chess Federation (FIDE) announced that from July 1, the international chess rules will be changed. According to the new chess rules the player with black chess pieces will start the game.

“The International Chess Federation wants to contribute to the current anti-discrimination movement Black Lives Matter,” explained FIDE President Arkady Dvorkovich.

“There has been a blatant injustice that since the beginning of the game of chess. There ancient rule that white chess pieces start the game and usually win it, is very discriminating against the player playing with black figures” the FIDE president commented on the reasons for the change in the rules.

“We need to say out loud that the rules of chess have been for centuries been clearly racist towards black chess pieces. Therefore, FIDE decided that we must overcome such historical injustice.”

Dvorkovich added that FIDE is preparing additional change of rules which will stipulate that only the player playing with black pieces is allowed to win the game.

“We just cannot tolerate any more discrimination that has been in the game of chess throughout centuries,” Dvorkovich explained. “This has to stop right this moment! With the new rules FIDE can guarantee that starting from now on only black pieces can win every magical game of chess that will ever be played!”
